Happy Halloween!

Hats off to Halloween! Drew loved it!
We went trick-or-treating with our new friends (former neighbors at the apt we lived in when we first moved here). They are from Belarus and had never trick-or-treated before!
Moseyin' on up for some treats!
Drew and his lil buddy with their dads

He looks just thrilled to have his picture taken!

Happy Halloween!

October!

I took Drew to Pigtails and Crewcuts for his first "professional" haircut. He had school pictures at MDO and needed to look extra spiffy. This is the salon that my friend, Andrea, owns. Drew LOVED the cars.

Drew and Dre

Rockin his Faux Hawk

Our MOPS group went to a pumpkin patch a few weeks ago. Drew had a great time pushing around wagons, but then started throwing a "tantrum." I say that in quotes because when we left I discovered that he had about a 4 inch bleeding scratch up his arm!! I couldn't see it because of his long sleeve shirt. So I thought he was throwing a tantrum, when really he was hurt. Poor baby!!!!! It's still healing -- it was a doozie.
Drew and his new bud, Jesse
This does NOT mean he's going to be a Longhorn, folks. Just means we have our work cut out for us... ;)

And...we have mastered the spoon! YAY!!! Big applause for my sweet kiddo! He's been using a spoon for months, but now he really has it down. In this pic, he's almost finished with his applesauce and his bib and hands are pretty much applesauce free. WEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! So proud of him. His favorite way to eat with a spoon (for many, many months) was to hold the spoon in one hand and use the other hand to fingerpaint with the food that he was supposed to use the spoon for. :)
This morning, our MOPS group went trick-or-treating at an assisted living home. Drew was a cowboy and one of his little buddies from MOPS was an Indian and another was a cowgirl. Too cute!

Friends, Trees, Babies, Oh my

Matt's truck was RIGHT HERE less than 2 hours before this tree fell (we're not sure exactly what time it fell)!

Cambry's face captures exactly how she felt about Drew! He kept following her around - kissing her, hugging her, pulling up her shirt to look at her belly button....Poor Cambry! Joseph was the star performer with his clapping!
Glad we got to see a few friends on our short trip to C-town!

Such a big boy!

Love these two littlest Fleas!

Here's Drew looking so grown up - big boy jeans and all!

In other big boy news...we are weaning from the paci! Cold turkey. It's actually going fine (I'm shocked)! He only had a paci when he was in his crib, but we've taken them all out now. Such a big boy!

Laughing and teasing Molly with a graham cracker (she eventually ate it).

See Molly lickin' those lips?

"So What" Na Na Na Na-Na

Who sings it better???

Of course, by the time we got the video camera out you just hear a little bit of "na na" from Drew, but he was really jammin beforehand! Yesterday at Gymboree he was a total ham. Dancing like you wouldn't believe.

Bawk Bawk and Mystery Solved!

BEGAWK!!!!
This is a shout out to my fab former co-workers!
Drew has played a few times with Jack, my friend Andrea's son. Jack calls chickens "bawk bawks" so this week I started saying "bawk bawk/begawk begawk" instead of "cluck cluck" for chickens when we read our animal books. Heehee.

AND...mystery solved! "Linda" obviously is referring to Drew's favorite great aunt Linda Kay. Duh! ;)

What's Mimi Say?

My parents were here last weekend and apparently my mom (Mimi) was clearing her throat a lot. Here's how Drew remembers his visit with Mimi...

You can also hear him saying "Linda" at the beginning of the video. It's his absolute favorite word. And we have NO idea what it means!

19 Months

19 months is such a big boy age, but when he's asleep he still looks like such a sweet little baby to me! I love it! I hope he keeps those rolly arms and cheeks for awhile longer! Love this boy!!!!

And here he is waking up...

In other news, MDO day 2 went well. This week the adjectives checked were "happy" and "busy!" I like happy & busy. Good times. We also got a double whammy in the #2 area and "no" for the nap! I love those little report cards :)

Today after I laid Drew down for his nap I stepped into the hall and smelled gas! I got him out of his crib and called the gas company. They sent someone right over and it turns out that we had a gas leak. Awesome. They shut it off and said it's not dangerous, but it was still a bit of a scare! Whew.

Mother's Day Out

Drew started Mother's Day Out today! He was all smiles until I dropped him off...then I heard the ugly cry! I stayed in the hallway while he was crying, which turned out to be good because the teacher came out to ask me some advice on how to calm him down - ha! He got over it fairly quickly and ended up having a great time. Apparently, it was such a great time that he didn't want to stop for a nap. He was the only one in the class that wouldn't lay down, which doesn't surprise me at all. They have to lay down on nap mats and sleep in the room where all the toys are. Suuuuuure. To get ready, we've been practicing at home, and I've had the same result! He won't lay on the mat. We shall see how this goes in the coming weeks.

Before MDO - this boy won't stay still for the camera, so here are some action shots.

Yup, that's one-shoe-off-driving-a-car-in-the-air-while-saying-brrrrr (car sound)!

In the car on the way to MDO - yup, again, one shoe off AND one sock off!

Noodles & Laundry

This is Drew's first 2 syllable word where both syllables don't start with the same letter! He's been saying "bubbles," etc., and even "basketball" (ba-ba-ball), but this is the first word where the syllables start with different letters. Yay! Perhaps it is my mommy ears that make this sound more impressive, or maybe it's not that great of a video, but in real life it sounds so much more clear! :) Go Noo-Dles!
(Matt thinks he's saying "No Duh." A little baby 'tude...)

Dose 'O Drew

And this, my friends, is why I don't ever leave the house. Daddy Diaper Duty gone awry. I left for about an hour and came back to a nekked baby in a jacked up diaper!

I hope these baby cheeks stick around for awhile...!!!

This is Drew's "real" smile! Happy boy!

Drew vacuuming. I need to try to catch a better one of him singing "doo dah!"

Happy Birthday, Mimi, Jonathan AND Katelyn!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
August 5th is a big day in our family. Happy bday to my mom, Mimi, my nephew, Jonathan, & my niece, Katelyn! Whew! Mimi requested a video of Drew riding his zebra for her bday, so here it is! Drew didn't really fully enjoy this toy until he saw his big cousin, Katelyn, riding it when she visited. Now he's got the idea and loves to bounce on it. He says "ba ba ba" for "bounce bounce bounce." I just caught the end of it on video. He'd been bouncing for awhile by the time I got my camera, so he's super dizzy when he gets off!

We love our 3 August 5thers!

MNO = Mom's Night Out!

I've known these girls since high school/jr. high! Abbie & Andrea live here in the Houston area and Christie drove over from Louisiana for the weekend. We went and tried something new -- Art Class & Wine Glass. It was So fun!! We all painted lovely dragonflies in cattails - HA! Masterpieces, for sure!
