Sickiepoo

Poor Drew started off the 2nd half of his first year not feeling so well. His fever spiked up to 102 in a matter of hours and the poor little guy was miserable. I took him to a clinic in Hobbs and the doctor looked at him for less than five minutes and wrote "teething" on his sheet, handed it to me, and told me where to pay! Seriously??? My main issue with this is that the doctor didn't even look in his mouth, so how would he know if he was teething?
WELL, I took him to Lubbock (2 hour drive and worth every minute) to the "real" pediatrician. This doctor spent lots of time with us and....looked in Drew's mouth. Guess what he found? Yellow blisters!! Drew has Hand, Foot & Mouth disease!!!!
URGH.

Bless his heart! I think you should give them a call and let them know! That's crap! Was it AMG?

Ah... Hand, foot, and mouth disease - Clayton had that once. No bueno. Poor baby!

I hope that you called (or wrote a nasty letter to) the Hobbs pedi to give him a piece of your mind! It sounds like his sub-par assessment techniques could be improved upon. Sorry that you had a bad experience, Pal. :-(

Poor Drew!! I hope he is on the mend quickly! And I agree with Sarah--you need to give that other office a piece of your mind! :)

Poor Drew. He is lucky to have you to take good care of him when he is sick.
