July Trip to Dallas

Hello Fresh!

Well, my free deals with Plated ran out, so I decided to try the introductory offer with HelloFresh!  It's a competitor and they also offered a great deal on the first box.  We received ingredients to make 3 meals and here's our first - meatball pizza!  It was a huge hit with the Drewski!  Unfortunately, the bell pepper they sent was rotten beyond salvage, but thankfully I had one in the fridge to use instead.  They sent a ball of dough and all the ingredients.  YUMMO.  I would definitely make this one again!

Drew seems to think naps are ok IF he is "helping" Meow Meow Cat sleep.  If he protests a nap, I tell him he has to help Meow Meow Cat take a good nap, and then he takes that job very seriously.  He lays him down, pets him and tells him night-night.  Pretty cute.

We've had a busy week in Dallas!!  Thanks to Mimi and Pops for all their help!  I love this last pic of Drew's baby hand and elbow.  I bet he will outgrow those chunky dimples this year!  Sooo cute!

Lamb meatballs with asparagus orzo!  I have never been a fan of lamb, so I'm not sure why I thought I might like this!  The orzo was great and I would've loved the meatballs of they were beef.  The meatballs had pine nuts, cumin, fresh parsley, shallot and garlic.  Gourmet, but Drew was the only one in our family who liked the meat!  This recipe did make about 4 times what is shown here.  One win/one lose with plated so far!

I took a chance on a Facebook ad and ordered from plated.com - super fun!  The deal was 4 free plates (just pay shipping), so all this food was free, except for the shipping!  It arrived via FedEx "peri ship" and was cold and packaged well.  It came with color copies of step by step recipes and all the ingredients portioned and labeled.  So far, we've only tried the pan fried redfish with lemon caper sauce and it was delish!  It took less than 30 minutes from start to plate!  If any of you decide to try this -- shoot me a message first so I can get referral credit for more free plates!  :)
