You get a line, I'll get a pole...
We'll go fishin' in the crawdad hole, honey, baby, mine!
Oh, yes. This happened. And they all three got pinched. Guess which one yelped the least?! ;) I was happy in the role of official photographer. They boiled 30lbs of crawfish! I have tried the little mudbugs a few times and the verdict's still the same....No, thanks!

Handsome Haircut
Drew has become a haircut lover. Our HEB has a kids haircut place inside the store and Drew asks for a haircut the entire time we are shopping for groceries! He LOVES it. Well, every couple months he gets his wish granted. Today was his lucky day and he loved every minute of it. I think it's really the lollipop that he loves :)
I just love this pic of him. He's really difficult to capture on camera because he refuses to pose, or even stand still and look in the vicinity of the camera on command! Each picture looks like a completely different kid to me because his expressions change so fast. This is a "real" Drew expression. He had a great day today. Precious kiddo!

Rodeo 2013
Cutest cowboy I've ever seen!
The rodeo has a children's area where the kids go around and harvest different Texas agricultural goods. Then, at the end, they sell their goods at the market and get some money to buy a treat at the general store. Such a cute idea! Drew seemed to like it, although by the time we got there he was out of energy. It was a LONG hike from the car to the children's area. He used up all his energy just getting there! We had a random run-in with Aunt KK's former roomie, Emily, at the children's area! She was a volunteer in the market. Small world!
Best picture I got of him actually looking toward the camera...an "I don't do pictures" pose and a cockamamy hat! LOL
Finding extra wide boots just didn't make it on my to-do list this year! This kid still has baby-shaped feet and it's hard enough finding tennis shoes to fit him.
He's had a very rough past 2 weeks, hence the bruised up face. Poor kiddo.
Drew + his all time favorite thing...MILK!
He loved this soft sheep and hugged it at least 3 times!
The rodeo was fun, but overall it was super $$ for the amount of time we spent there. If they had a toddler parking area with direct access to the children's area, it would be perfect! But parking miles away and then fighting the crowds to get to the kids area took all the energy out of this boy before we even started the festivities!
Thanks, Auntie KK for the cowboy hat! She bought it for Drew last year at the rodeo. This might be the last year it fits :)

Touch A Truck!
Drew love love loves anything with wheels. This pic about sums up his experience at Touch-A-Truck today. He didn't pose for any pics, but here are a few action shots.
Although he's had several ambulance rides, this is the first one he enjoyed! :)
He ran the length of this big rig and then stopped in the middle on the way back to do a little dancing.
February
This pic makes me smile. Cutie pie!
Swim Lessons! Drew LOVES the water!!!
Loves the new table from Mimi and Pops! This was a week or so after the EMU, so he still has glue in his hair!
Lovin on his animals!

Drew is 3!
Happy Birthday to my sweetest little blessing, Drew!!!!
Drew's birthday morning, January 26th, we woke up in the hospital and expected to be there the entire day. It was day 6 of a week long EEG stay. I'm not sure if it was a bday gift, or curse, but he had a fairly big seizure that morning. Curse because I never want to see him have a seizure, but blessing because it meant that they caught all the data they needed and we were able to come home a day early. We got to spend his bday evening at home with hamburgers (his request) and cupcakes! Mimi and Pops were there to celebrate too! They helped us out tremendously during Drew's hospital stay -- Thank you, Mimi and Pops!
My mom made this! She took the pictures of each letter and also painted the turtle on the end. Love it!
3rd bday cupcake and bday banners. The top banner is from the hospital staff and the bottom one was made by Matt and I. Poor Drew's parents made a banner for his hospital door that said, "Hail Seizer! Happy Birthday, Drew!" I've never seen a neurologist belly laugh like I did on Drew's bday morning!
Mimi painted this too. Drew is in the turtles class at school this year. Love it - she's so talented!
Since we came home from the hospital ON his birthday, we didn't have the cupcakes decorated in advance. So we let Drew put his own icing on and he was just as happy.
The Loot
3 Fleas
Good pic of what his hair looked like with all the glue they left in it! This took weeks to get out, even with acetone!!! It is super heavy duty glue since it was a week long EEG. For the regular EEGs they use a different glue that is much easier to get out.
Bday cupcake, glue in the hair, and hospital bracelets!
Here are some pics from our hospital stay --
We brought the Pack N play for Drew to sleep in because he is super hyper and there is NO way he would stay in a hospital bed on his own. He's a wee bit too big for the PNP, but we made it work! He had to keep his backpack either on his back, or right next to him the entire week. It houses all the wires from the electrodes on his head and then consolidated everything into one wire that left the backpack and was tethered to the wall. He was literally on a leash for 6 days and did not leave the hospital room even once during that time. FUN FOR ALL!
This gives you an idea of our set up. Drew had just this one room to play in for the entire 6 days! Child Life was great and brought tons of toys in, and a good friend, Arlene, sent Drew a care package of fun new toys to keep him entertained!
Putting the electrodes on. This is actually quite misleading. He fought with every fiber in his being for the first hour of the electrode application and eventually wore himself out. Let's just say this boy has made a name for himself amongst the EEG techs.
Sweetest boy ever!!!
