Indecisive

Drew just can't decide if he's a rock star or a cowboy! Decisions, decisions...
My favorite part is the socks: converse-socks and boot-socks! Love it.

Another Cleaning Post!

This time around...Toilet Bowl Rings! I think this stay-at-home mom gig is getting to me! HA.
Another amazing find for hard water....the Pumie! This is a pumice stone on a stick and it will get rid of hard water rings in your toilet bowl. It is seriously AMAZING. Most of you know that when we moved in here I had Matt replace both toilets because I thought the people that lived here last just never had heard of a toilet brush. It was BAD! Well, lo and behold...those same rings popped up on the new toilets! They are impossible to remove. We even tried CLR and other chemicals that you have to wear gloves around. Nothing worked. Nothing until...the PUMIE!! Five Stars in my book!

Drew & Austin

Drew with his little buddy, Austin!
Austin - 3 months
Drew - 7 months
These little guys and their mamas go walking in the mornings so they see each other almost every day, but they haven't gotten to hang out outside of their strollers until this morning! Too much cuteness!!

Shopping Cart

Drew's first time sitting in a shopping cart!
This was actually a few weeks ago. It was his first and only attempt to sit in the cart w/out his infant carrier. About 10 minutes into the shopping trip he slumped over to the side and bonked his noggin pretty hard. It left a red welt and I felt pretty terrible! Back to the infant carrier for this babe! He's not so big after all!

Puppy Bud

Today, I needed to vacuum the rug so I put Drew and his puppy in the swing for about 2 minutes. When I was done vacuuming, I saw this. I love how Drew has his arm around the pup! HAHA. They are best buds.

Monkey Luva

Drew is 1/2 Monkey. I'll let you guess which half.

Warning: This is not a baby post! :)

Oh, Lemi Shine! Where have you been for the last 4 years of my life?? We have lived in this area for 4 years and I just now discovered Lemi Shine. I think all of Southeast NM/ West Texas needs a new law. Whenever you move into this area the realtor should be required to tell you about Lemi Shine. HELLLO HARD WATER!
Recently our water just took a major turn for the worse. It got to the point that we quit drinking it all together and actually bought a water cooler/heater like an office would have! We have been pulling our hair out over our dishwasher too, convinced it was broken. We were looking into buying a new one because of all the white nasty stuff that was building up on our dishes. The only thing that would take it off was hand washing them in white vinegar...GROSS. So I started researching online and found Lemi Shine. The fact that it's made in Midland gave me great confidence. Those people feel my pain!
Here's an example of a bowl after being washed in our dishwasher without Lemi Shine...

AFTER
(washed in same dishwasher, using Lemi Shine)

Oh, Lemi Shine, I love you!

I see you!

Blankets don't last long on our floor these days! Drew is such a roly poly! He's making us think that crawling is just around the corner. He gets up and wiggles one leg until he does a face plant! Not sure why the other leg doesn't join in, but once it and the arms get going we'll have a crawler!
With crawling right around the corner, I finally broke down and bought a new vacuum. I seriously have no idea how I ever lived without the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser. This vacuum is AMAZING. You should see how much stuff came out of my rug after I used this thing. On second thought, you will never see it because I would die of embarrassment! It was unbelievable!!! And it has pink on it (this was the deciding factor).

6 month stats

At Drew's 6 months appointment, he weighed 19lbs 6oz and was 28 inches long. About the 75th percentile for both.

Kilgore Camp Out (with AC, of course)

Last week we took a family vacation to Hot Springs, Arkansas. My parents found really nice cabins on Lake Catherine and all the Kilgores from our branch of the family tree pow-wowed for 3 nights at the state park. I didn't cart my camera around as much as I usually do, so there aren't many pics of everything we did. I promise Valarie, Jonathan & Lex were there too! Sorry there aren't a lot of pics of y'all!!

While there we celebrated the August birthdays - 3 of which were on August 5th! A couple of years ago we threw my dad a big surprise 60th bday party. Well, when mom turned 60 last year, Kristi was in labor and I was preggo so she didn't get the same kind of party that dad did. We celebrated her 60+1 this year in Arkansas.

View from one of the cabins. Shane & Val down by the lake.

Katelyn's smash cake! Happy FIRST bday, sweet girl!

She was pretty dainty at first...

Sickiepoo

Poor Drew started off the 2nd half of his first year not feeling so well. His fever spiked up to 102 in a matter of hours and the poor little guy was miserable. I took him to a clinic in Hobbs and the doctor looked at him for less than five minutes and wrote "teething" on his sheet, handed it to me, and told me where to pay! Seriously??? My main issue with this is that the doctor didn't even look in his mouth, so how would he know if he was teething?
WELL, I took him to Lubbock (2 hour drive and worth every minute) to the "real" pediatrician. This doctor spent lots of time with us and....looked in Drew's mouth. Guess what he found? Yellow blisters!! Drew has Hand, Foot & Mouth disease!!!!
URGH.
